Aaaaaaaaand we're back....kind of.

Well, I'M back. That's the kind of part.

Turns out, I was the only person on the blog who really had time to blog. Blogging is a commitment. It really is. But, fortunately, I blog all over myself sometimes. I was born with my blog in my mouth.

Enough blog jokes. The point is- I'm back--- same routine, same old stuff. Bitching, voicing opinions, politicking, joking, etc.

Well, I DID get married and stuff. That's different I guess. So I'm now someone's wife- which is hilarious. But the good news is that now that all of that is over, I can get back to what I do best: voicing my self-righteous and sometimes completely absurd opinions.

Cheers. Check often- I'll be around.

Favorite Quote of the campaign thus far

But President George W. Bush Sunday attacked Obama's foreign policy saying in an interview aired on Fox News Sunday: "I certainly don't know what he believes in."

Obama's campaign shot back, with spokesman Bill Burton saying: "Barack Obama doesn't need any foreign policy advice from the architect of the worst foreign policy decision in a generation."

Phelps- the devil incarnate

I just read reports today that Kansan and prominent Baptist preacher Fred Phelps was planning on protesting the funeral of recently deceased movie star Heath Ledger.

"Why"- you might ask?

Because Heath Ledger appeared in the controversial film Brokeback Mountain, which depicted a homosexual relationship between two men.

Yes....it's true. The man who brought us the battlecry "GOD HATES FAGS" and protests the funerals of men in the armed forces because he believes God is "punishing America" with the deaths of our soldiers because of our immoral behavior (ignoring the fact that these men- and stop me if I'm wrong here- are actually dying because our ultra-religious-conservative president is sending them to war?).

Open letter to Fred Phelps--

Oh, you and your congregation. You are truly one of the best arguments that atheists have against organized religion. You are a miserable, miserable, group of people. You're even more crazy than Scientologists- and that's saying a lot.

You spend all of your time being judge and jury to the entire world...and the irony of it all is- I'm pretty sure if anyone is going to burn in the fiery pits of hell (granted they exist)--- it's all of you.

I hate to tell you- but you are interpreting that book of yours ALL WRONG. I've read the thing, and I'm pretty sure there's nothing in there about attacking others because of their chosen lifestyles. Wait...there IS that one part in there about "stoning blasphemers" and there IS that one party about- oh forget it- that's in the Old Testament....so it doesn't count, right? Oh screw it- let's not get into a religious debate. Because the point really is- if religion does turn out to be legit- I'm pretty sure you've been doing it all wrong.

And- what does protesting a funeral even mean? Like- protesting a war means you are AGAINST THE WAR. Protesting a bill in congress means you are AGAINST THE BILL. What does protesting a funeral mean? Does it mean you are protesting them dying or protesting them having a proper burial? There's some pretty cryptic and absurd things in the bible, but I'm pretty sure there's nothing that says "Those who represented the homosexual community in a motion picture shalt not receive proper burials."

I mean- REALLY?! He just played a gay person in a movie. What's funny is that Ledger was (and no offense to him- we all make mistakes) addicted to illegal drugs, conceived a child out of wedlock, and left his daughter fatherless- but it's his choice to play a gay character in a movie that you are most offended by. Wow. I hate you.

Lastly- why do you have to be from Kansas? It's really embarrassing. The person who is the worst representation for organized religion has to be from my homestate? Why couldn't you be from some place more appropriate- some place that already has a reputation for being racist, homophobic, and a little backwards- like Arkansas or Mississippi?

You are embarrassment. I'm pretty sure that if god exists he's up there cringing every time you do something in his name. I can't speak for him necessarily, but I think I speak for the sane community of America when I say- SHUT THE FUCK UP.

For real.

Hugs!

L-I-N-D-S-A-Y

Last night in bed I had this really strange memory-

Remember when you were little and your teacher had you take your name, and choose a character trait or other traits that you possessed for each letter? I was thinking of what mine were, (as far as I can remember) and what they would be if I did this activity NOW.

Do it. It's fun.

Here's something like what mine was in the 3rd grade:

L- Loving
I- Interesting
N- Nice
D- Dazzling
S- Super
A-Active
Y- Youthful

Yes, I thought pretty highly of myself. But, really, I was just learning what adjectives were and that was the best I could come up with at the time I'm sure...

And here's what I've come up with for today:

L- Lewd
I- Indecisive
N- Neurotic
D- Dysfunctional
S- Sarcastic
A- Affectionate
Y-Yearning

I urge you to try this. Do some soul-searching.
